Sony MDR-X05 hadir dalam balutan kombinasi warna yang memikat sepertiwarna merah silver, hitam silver, putih silver, serta hitam merah. Selain itu MDR-X05, diklaim mampu menghasilkan kualitas audio yang lebih berwarna dengan dentuman bass yang mantap.
MDR-X05 secara khusus dirancang dengan desain akustik yang efisien yang dikombinasikan dengan driver 40mm, yang mampu memberikan performa audio yang optimal dengan mereproduksi heavy bass.
